MONITORING TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS PENDING FURTHER INFORMATION
AS COVID-19 SITUATION DEVELOPS

Ok, so we are all feeling pretty frustrated by the restrictions arising from this hideous COVID-19 situation...Some of us will have been unable to ride our bikes for many weeks...others have had to cancel long anticipated trips to wonderful places. All in all, the riding season is NOW and we all feel that we should be out on the roads, enjoying our favourite piece of two-wheeled machinery, be it on our daily commute or charging round the countryside on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We have had to postpone trips to Wales, Ireland, France, the Pyrenees and Norway, which is particularly galling with the weather having been so sun-soaked and we are feeling in need of some serious two-wheeled action!

In order to get people back on their bikes with something to look forward to, we have designed a trip that will get the blood coursing through the veins as you ride through some of the most stunning parts of the United Kingdom. You will head up through the Yorkshire Moors, the Northumbrian forest and into the glories of the Scottish Highlands, continuing round the fabulous west coast and back down through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District, with the final night in the Cotswolds.

We thought we would begin the trip with a good hearty brunch in the fabled café at Krazy Horse (Bury St Edmonds), finishing after the 9th and final night in the picturesque village of Burford with a cup of coffee and a cake with our friends at the Krazy Horse Farmhouse down the road.

This tour of the best roads in Scotland will get the blood pumping and will remind you of all the reasons you love your motorcycle! The route will incorporate parts of the famous NC500, but with our own take on what we consider to be more interesting roads. The breathtaking views are sublime and the roads challenging. All in all, a great way to get back in the saddle after lockdown!

We aim to leave in the morning by 9.00am and aim to be at our destination by 6.00pm in the evening. This equates to around 6 hours in the saddle - we typically ride for an hour and a half before a 20 minute break for coffee with a 1 hour stop for lunch and another break in the afternoon. We are definitely happy to stop to admire the view and for photo opportunities along the way.

Please note that whilst we have planned to visit a number of points of interest, it is of course entirely possible that these places, be they castles, battlefields, restaurants or hotels, might not be open to the public by the time the trip takes place. Equally, the published dates are only a best guess at this stage of the lockdown and may have to be amended depending on circumstances.
